Wine Wednesdays: No Bottle Fee + $9.99 House Wine, Every Week
Starting September 9, Wednesdays at Ballard Beer Box just got a lot more interesting for anyone who loves wine but hates doing math about it. We're calling it Wine Wednesdays, and it's really two separate perks stacked on top of each other, so let's walk through both.
What "No Bottle Fee Wednesdays" Actually Means
Here's the thing about bottle fees (or corkage, or whatever your usual spot calls it): most taprooms and restaurants charge you extra just to open a bottle of wine, on top of the price of the bottle itself. It's one of those quiet costs that adds up without you noticing.
On Wednesdays, we're dropping that fee entirely. Pick any bottle off our natural wine list, the same list we wrote about a few weeks back when we started building it out and we'll bring it to your table and open it right there, no extra fee. No corkage, no service charge, no fine print. You're just paying for the bottle.
If you've been curious about a specific bottle but didn't want to commit to the markup, Wednesday is your day to actually try it.
And Then There's the Pizza + Wine Combo
The second half of the offer is for anyone who wants something simpler than committing to a full bottle.
Every Wednesday from 12–6pm, our house Red, White, and Rosé drop from $12 to $9.99 a glass so that's 20% off when you order one alongside any pizza.
That's the whole rule: a glass of house wine, a pizza on the table, sometime between noon and six. Just tell your server you're in for Wine Wednesdays and they'll take it from there.
And speaking of the pizza, every pie coming out of our kitchen is made fresh that day, using organic Washington State flour we mix and stretch in-house. We're not thawing anything or trucking in dough from somewhere else. If wine and pizza are going to share a table, we wanted the dough to actually earn its half of it.
This is also the perfect excuse to try our new Personal Pizzas, sized just right for one glass and one pie.
Why We're Doing Both at Once
Honestly, it's because they're better together. The no-bottle-fee deal is for the wine-curious, the neighbours who want to explore something new off the list without a penalty for doing it. The $9.99 glass is for the after-work, low-commitment crowd who just wants a good pour with their food. Put them on the same day, and Wednesday becomes the one afternoon where wine at Ballard Beer Box makes sense no matter what kind of night you're having.
